Words can hardly describe Chau & An’s epic traditional Vietnamese wedding in OKC. To say the day was fun would be an understatement. As per Vietnamese tradition, there were two tea ceremonies to start the day off. Celebrations of the joining of families, gifts, love and happiness. This was followed by the traditional Catholic church ceremony at Saint Andrew Dung-Lac Catholic Church, with the most beautifully-vibrant rose petals tossed for their send off. The blue sky reflecting off of the windows of the church was perfection.
Officially married, and with downtime to spare before their reception, we ventured off to The Yard. It was the most amazing time for everyone, and we did our absolute best to capture it all. The bridal party almost succeeded in horizontally stacking their bodies. There were shots.. and more shots. Totally talking about photos.. or are we? Oh, and we can’t forget the most important flower girl to show up in time for photos. Lucy was living her best life for a good 15 min. It was her time to shine. She was the happiest pup we’ve ever seen!
The reception felt like a fast forward from there. Intros, speeches, table to table greetings and games, raffles—yes, they had giveaways for the guests! Someone won an electric toothbrush. (The groom is a dentist.) Chau surprised An with some killer dance moves with her bridesmaids, and then her bridesmaids turned around and surprised Chau with a choreographed dance as well! It was fantastic. We also learned that the best man tossed the groom in the dumpster once. Did we mention that Chau’s brother was dropping some serious beats for the second half of the reception? An might have crowd surfed. Chau did a trust fall. Oh, what a night!!
